bake off in room one

Today in room 1 we had a bake off.We all had to bring something to school.We were in groups.My group was me charli tara makyla and olivia.We used carrot cup cakes.We gave a couple of people a taste.Dylan mrs todds son gave us a 8 out of ten.We were happy when we got our score.But sadly charlottes group got a 9 out of ten.For our icing we used icing sugar vanilla essence and margarine.Then for our cake we used eggs vanilla essence flour sugar and baking soda.We set it to 350 degrees and cooked it for 10 to 15 minutes.At the end our cupcakes got decorated with strawberries and Fondant and broccoli.We made little faces with them and made a tree with the broccoli.We had lots of fun.

Making kiwiana symbol biscuits

Today we made symbols of kiwiana with cookie dough.Mrs Todd bought in some cookie dough.The symbol that i made was kiwi.If we had spares we got to eat them.I put a really fat head on it and a really skinny body.It tasted so delicious and beautiful .But i could still taste a little bit of the cookie dough roar.

On Monday we started reading our speeches about kiwiana.We wrote abot New Zealand things. Like kiwis silver ferns the all blacks buzzy bee and alot more.I wrote about buzzy bee fish and chips l and p kiwis jelly tip ice cream and the all blacks!I didnt get through to the finals but its ok.I still liked all the other peoples speech.

descriptive writing mark

This week we had to write a descriptive text using an image as a prompt.My mark was 3A.I am really pleased with my mark. Next time , I will improve my punctuation's and making my story more descriptive to get a even better mark.

Here is what i wrote:
On a freezing winter day me and my friend decided to go see an ice mountain.We look at it and people were standing there looking like they want to hurt us. There were heaps of people everywhere.We had no choice to either die or climb the ice mountain. We didn't want to die so we just climbed the frosty ice mountain!As we climb we get stuck on a piece of frozen ice. The ice mountain started to seperate. We got frightened. We were so scared.We reached out for each other. The ice mountain just kept going further out. It was freezing cold.We were shivering so bad we got goose bumps.

Me and my friend almost fell off. So we stretched as far as we can. We both looked down.We saw that the people were gone.Suddenly ice started to fall off.We got horrified.We were worried we were going to fall off.I finally came up with a planI told my friend lets go down the way we came up.She didnt agree on it.It started to rain heavilywith drops of painful hail.The ice mountain started to chang color.
It was getting darker.We had little tear drops dropping from our eyes.

We had no chance at all to take my plan or to stay up there and freeze to death on a frosty mountain.BOOM!She asked what was that humongous sound.The frosty mountain was falling into little tiny pieces.We were terrified and a accident happened as the mountain was cracking.We slipped off and banged our heads.We got found by people.We were all confused.We were in a hospital.The hospital was nice,warm and comfortable.A few days later in the hospital we got all better and got told to never go to a freezing cold frosty place again.We heard the sound of lightning,Thunder and frosty ice falling onto the ground.Lucky we're not still up the mountain we will be dead already!

Boomerang

Yesterday we made boomerangs and we wrote a story about it with all the symbols on it.Then we painted them.

Story:
On a nice sunny day a women went for a walk.She saw people sitting together having fun and being happy.The weather started to change.The people walked away and didn't notice her at all.They walked away.A man walked past her and saw her.The women was worried and nervous that he would do something to her.A boomerang flew past her.She flinched.She walked away nervously as the man was going to do something to her.

High jump

Athletics this year was on the  9.11.17.The one that i found easiest  was long jump.But i didn't win and i didn't go that far.I didnt win any events.But it doesnt matter because i can try next year.Also it doesnt matter because there is always next year.

What guy Fawkes is really about?

Guy Fawkes is about thirteen young men planning to blow up houses of parliament.But after Queen Elizabeth died in 1903 English Catholics who had been persecuted under her rule  had hoped successor James would be more tolerant to their religion. James had a Catholic mother and James persecuted Catholics.Unfortunately James did not turn out to be tolerant than Elizabeth  and a number of shape,Under the leadership of Robert Catesby.He felt that the thing was is to blow wales and members of the parliament who were making life difficult for the Catholics.And conspirators are known as extremists or terrorists.

Chinese opera mask

3.11.17 Today Bethany came to school and we watched a video about the Chinese  opera masks.In the video there lots of symbolism.I chose the colour red,black,purple yellow and blue.Blue represents personality of fierceness.Black represents courage.Purple represents being upright and serious.Red represents loyalty.courage and uprightness.yellow represents bravery of characteristic.

Halloween symbols

Yesterday on 31.10.17 room one made Halloween symbols made with fruit that Mrs Todd brought to school. We were in groups of four's but we had a group of five.In my group I had Tara,Charli,Olivia Makyla and me.But Makyla didnt come.We made a spider with toothpicks mandarin apple and two grapes.

I have a cat who is fat.The fat cat keeps a hat.That hat is always kept on a mat.I dont know why but in the hat is a bat.When the cat sat the hat spat.A fat cat who sat on the mat who kept a hat just got tired and he sat.A cat who is fat that sat who has a hat that loudly spat and that hat has a bat.A cat and a mat and spat a hat and who is fat.

Mblock Robot soccer

Yesterday Room one did a fun scientific activity called Mblock.We were in groups.It was me Olivia and Adam.Adam basicalliy done the work and me and Oivia controlled the robot alot.It doesnt sound fair to me.We did eventually give Adam a turn though.After we made the robot work we had a game of soccer with the other peoples robots.Hili was the biggest cheat ever.When her team didnt have the ball she'll grab the ball from the other team and put it in front of her team all the time.

Cereal box art

For our cereal box art we made a canvas and we painted symbols of the holy spirit.

We cut the cereal box and we taped it so that we could see the  inside of the box.After that we painted our cereal boxes with gesso. When our gesso was all dried up we painted symbols of the holy spiri.The symbol that i chose was fire.I chose fire because fire represents different languages from other countries and fire came apon the apostles and made them talk different languages to God.The fire that appeared on pentecost was reminiscent of the burning bush.
